Hi! I am so glad you found me!

I am sure you are wondering who I am. Well, allow me to introduce myself!                  My name is Angela Docenko (doh-sen-koh). I use she/her/hers pronouns.

I was born and raised in a little town in Niagara County, NY.  I was a champion puddle jumper, loved animals, nature, swimming, my Cabbage Patch, climbing trees, deer watching, star gazing and reading among other things!

I went to college at Niagara County Community College and then Buffalo State College for music. I dabbled in theatre...and am a classically trained soprano! I went on to the University at Buffalo for a Master's in Library Science and K-12 Certification.

I have worked in various jobs over the years such as: waitress, retail, greenhouse, infant teacher, substitute teacher, librarian, singer, counselor, personal assistant, stage manager and worked with individuals with disabilities. Other experiences that have enriched my life include but are not limited to, travelling to various eastern US cities and states, and Canada. I have experienced many other cultures through friends and family who come from Canada, France, England, Ireland, Scotland, Austria, Argentina, Ukraine, Poland, Korea, India, Vietnam and China.                                          I am an LGBTQ Ally and an anti-bullying advocate.

In 2016 I graduated from Medaille College with a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I have worked in preventive services, outpatient clinics and in private practice. I have worked with clients of all ages and walks of life who are being impacted by all kinds of different problems, ailments and traumas.  I utilize a trauma informed person centered approach to counseling and strive to maintain a holistic view of my clients.                                                                                                                        Employing a myriad of tools including but not limited to, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), solution focused, creative arts, mindfulness and EMDR, I customize treatment to my clients needs.

I am always learning something new and have many interests such as nature, swimming, arts/crafts, singing, reading, photography, Reiki & mindfulness, watching TV/movies and spending time with friends and family.

Currently I live in Buffalo, NY with my husband and our emotional support budgie, Bodhi!

We lost our beloved Captain Jack, April 1, 2020. We love to remember him, happy and playful and as a wonderful companion. We are sure he is in doggie heaven running down trails, rolling in the snow and getting lots of belly rubs!
